FABREGAS AND TERRY TO NEWCASTLE?

Pundit Stan Collymore has asked Premier League returnee Newcastle United to sign Cesc Fabregas and John Terry to provide the require experience in the top flight.

Collymore told The Mirrorthat the Magpies should also target Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.

Sunderland are set to feature in the English Championship from next season while Terry wants out from Stamford Bridge to where he could get regular play time. Fabregas has fallen in the pecking order of Antonio Conte despite him still delivering the goods when called upon.

Collymore asked that Rafa Benitez take advantage of these chances as they return.

The eventual winners of the Championship title on the final day of the season are returning to the top flight with a bang. The club is focused on retaining their manager Rafa Benitez, with the Spaniard looking for potential talents that can take the club to the next level. Collymore says the players are 30 or over, yet they would bring something substantial to the team.

After almost two decades, Terry is set to exit leave Chelsea. The 36-year old has no shortage of admirers but the pundit wants Newcastle to join in bidding for him. Terry and Benitez might have their issues after their time together at Stamford Bridge but this is the time to put all that aside.

Fabregas has racked up 11 assists this term despite barely playing for the team. The Spaniard may seek somewhere else for regular football as he is targeting the World Cup next year with the national team.

After the relegation of Sunderland from the league, Defoe would be a free agent this summer. He scored 15 goals this term and he could repeat the same for Newcastle next year if signed. He could combine with Dwight Gayle as well.
