ARTETA WAS VERY LUCKY โ€“ FABREGAS

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was very lucky to work alongside a great manager before taking up the managerial job at Arsenal. AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas spoke to TalkSports about Arteta and Arsenal. According to him, his compatriot is fortunate to have worked with Guardiola who's widely regarded by many as the best manager in the world.

Cesc Fabregas believes that Arteta learnt a lot of things as the assistant manager under Guardiola at Manchester City that would prove useful to him during the course of his managerial career.

Arteta worked alongside Guardiola for several seasons as Manchester City dominated English football.
While they were together, the Citizens won two successive league titles. The first of those two Premier League titles was won with a record-breaking 100 points, while the second Premier League title was won by finishing just one point ahead of rivals Liverpool. Manchester City had to come from behind to usurp Liverpool and win the league title by a solitary point. For that second league title, Manchester City had 98 points, while Liverpool had 97 points.

Arteta left Manchester City to take the Arsenal job in December 2019 and he went on to lead the Gunners to an FA Cup title despite being at the club for six months in a managerial capacity. Arteta got the better of Guardiola in the semifinals on the way to winning that FA Cup. Arsenal beat Guardiola and Manchester City 2-0 thanks to the brace from skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang before seeing off London rivals Chelsea in the final.

Since his appointment as the Gunners boss, Arteta has led the club to eighth position at the end of the Premier League campaign in his two seasons at the club. Last season, Arsenal didn't qualify for Europe for the first time in 25 years.
