Cesc Fabregas: It is too early to talk about Chelsea exit

Spain international Cesc Fabregas has insisted that it is too early to talk about his potential exit from Chelsea. The 31-year-old has struggled for regular gametime in the Premier League this season with just one league start and this has increased the speculation of him leaving the club at the turn of the year.

However, speaking after the Europa League game at Vidi, Fabregas stressed that he is not in a hurry to leave the Blues with his existing deal only due to expire at the end of the season. He added that he would like to play more in the top-flight but he is not someone who will down his tools when the going gets tough.

He said: ““I know what my role is. Unfortunately it's not the one I want. I'm keeping it professional as usual“. I'm always trying to do my best, in the conditions, playing with the youngsters, playing with the first team, even though this year I still haven't played with the full, full first team one game. But, I'm trying to do what I can. It's a difficult situation for me, obviously. We'll see what happens. It's too early to talk about this now. I don't give up. I'm not someone who you'll see “complaining or not giving“ his all because of that.”

Fabregas has been a regular fixture for the Blues in the Premier League over the past four years but the current campaign has paved differently with Maurizio Sarri bringing in the likes of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic- the latter on a season-long loan. As such, there has been staunch speculation that Fabregas could pursue a move elsewhere with AC Milan among the suitors but it appears that he could wait until the season end to assess whether Blues would be extending his contract. Fabregas has made nearly 200 appearances for Chelsea since joining them from Barcelona four years ago.
