BARCA WANT ARSENAL

The former Arsenal players Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song have said that they would like to face their former clubs if possible in the Champions League. Barcelona and Arsenal have the opportunity to be drawn against each other in the last 16 stage of the Champions league.

This is because Barcelona have finished as the winners of the group, while also could only manage a second placed finish. The former Gunners Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song have fond memories of the English Premier league club, which have led to them saying that it would be great if the Spanish club Barcelona were paired against Arsenal once again in the competition.

The two teams have met each other a number of times in the last few seasons, while Cesc Fabregas has even played against Arsenal as a Barcelona player. However, Alex Song only recently sealed his move from the Emirates stadium in a £ 15 million deal. He has been one of the first-team regulars at the Camp Nou in the absence of the central defenders at the club due to injury problems. Arsenal managed to stun the world by managing a 2-1 win over Barcelona last season, but were unable to get the job done in the second leg.

"[I would like us to play] Arsenal, for the affection and affinity I have with that club. I would be very excited to see the people with whom I lived for so many years. It would be a very special tie," said the Spaniard Cesc Fabregas ahead of the Champions League draw. "Of course I would like to play against Arsenal. For me to go back there, where I had seven magnificent years, would be something very special," said Alex Song. Arsenal are currently struggling in the Premier league for form.
