Fabregas Draws Attention From Both Manchester Clubs

Cesc Fabregas is reportedly subjected to transfer interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City in the summer. The midfielder has been criticised by his own fans after a string of poor performances. However, he has been one of the best players for Barcelona in terms of statistics. The former Arsenal man, though, has taken a lot of stick for being part of the team that has failed to live up to the expectations in several areas.

Defender Gerard Pique recently stated that Fabregas was not be singled out for the criticism since he feels that the whole team is to be blamed for the poor run of form. The club can still end the season on a high by winning the league title, but it is looking highly unlikely that will happen. Fabregas was brought to the club for around £ 35 million as the replacement for Xavi, still continues to be an integral part of the Barcelona team. As a result, he may decide to leave the club in the summer. United are thought to have made him as one of the three main transfer targets in the summer.

City are also looking to strengthen the team after winning the league title. Hence, Fabregas could be subjected to a transfer interest in the coming summer as well. United openly persuaded him to join the club last summer, but he choose to remain at Barcelona. However, after a year of contempt from his own supporters, he may finally decide to leave his boyhood club once again. It may take in excess of £ 40 million in order to persuade the Catalan club to sell him.

Fabregas has missed only two league matches this season and has played in 33 so far. He still has two years left on his current contract.
