Cesc Fabregas praises Arteta’s impact at Arsenal

Cesc Fabregas has lauded the work done by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who has helped transform the club from a mediocre outfit into title challengers. Arsenal are looking to win the league title for the first time since the Invincibles in the early part of the century. Arsene Wenger was the last boss to have led the team to title success. Since then, the club have even struggle to finish in the top four places on several occasions.

After coming into the Arsenal job in 2019,Arteta has taken his time to get going. His first season with the Gunners, there were plenty of inconsistencies. They seem to have been ironed out as Arsenal have now put together an impressive run of form. The Gunners have now created a seven-point lead at the top of the table and even Manchester City have been unable to come up with the same level of performances.

Cesc Fabregas was the last Arsenal player to have won the title with the club and he was also a teammate of Arteta towards the end of his Arsenal days. The Spaniard took up the proper route of learning from the best like Pep Guardiola. The Londoners were able to get an impressive 4-2 success over Brighton to extend the lead in the table.
"If we had listened to certain people at a time when Arsenal finished eighth and not doing that well, then maybe Mikel wouldn’t be there. But they gave him the time that was needed to develop his own style, his own players coming in, making his own thing. Mikel was my team-mate and he helped me a lot when I was very young, he knows the game properly. They haven’t won anything yet, but they are definitely going in the right way," said Fabregas.
