Fabregas appreciates Olivier Giroud’s professionalism and quality

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has given out a tribute to his former teammate Olivier Giroud after the striker came up with four goals in the Champions League match against Sevilla. So far this season, Giroud has been struggling to get any game time owing to the good performances of Tammy Abraham and his age.

At 34 years of age, Giroud is approaching the end of his career and manager Lampard is clearly looking towards the future when using Abraham more often than not. However, the experience and skill of Giroud came to the fore when he led the line against Sevilla the midweek action.

The Frenchman came up with all the goals in the 4-0 win. Furthermore, this was also a match that saw a perfect hat-trick from the French forward. He scored with his left foot, right foot, head, and there was also a penalty along the way. Fabregas has played with many great strikers in his career and Giroud is one among them. Interestingly, both players also have had to leave Arsenal to join Chelsea. Both players have managed to win World Cups with their respective national teams. After the game, Lampard said that he is extremely happy for Giroud, who has been labelled as a model professional by every member of the squad.
What a real pro you are mate. All young players should have you as a rol model. Well done once again. And people still wonder why you always end up playing!! Hard work, passion, dedication and real character to always turn things around,” said Fabregas on his Twitter account. Meanwhile, Lampard suggested that Giroud might be in the team for the weekend’s match against Leeds United. “When you win 4-0 in a Champions League away game it’s always a great feeling and a good performance from the team,” said Giroud.
