Wilshere Brands Fabregas and Rooney As the Best Ever

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has branded Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas as two players who could be regarded as his best teammates.Wilshere came through the ranks at Arsenal when the club was famed for a brilliant style of play – even if it did not get a lot of trophies. A central figure in Arsenal’s brilliant football was Cesc Fabregas, whose amazing vision had little parallel in the Premier League back then.Wilshere was expected to be the next Fabregas or someone who could dominate English football for a long time, but this has not been the case with the 28-year-old struggling to take his talent into potential.

His potential, though, helped him get a place in the England national team for a number of years. The midfielder made his debut for England in 2010 and featured in 34 matches for the national team, and these are sizable numbers even if he has not been seen in the national team fold since 2016. This led to his acquaintance with Wayne Rooney, who has also been branded as a crucial player. Wilshere has been unable to hit a great patch of form at West Ham, as he has only featured in 14 league games since the switch to the Hammers. The break caused by the corona virus pandemic is expected to rejuvenate the 28-year-old.

When asked about the best players he has played with, Wilshere said: “It’s tough, I played with some good players. Probably Cesc or Wazza.” The midfielder went on to talk about Arsene Wenger.“He gave me freedom. He let me play how I wanted to play. Obviously there was some tactical stuff but in terms of me on the ball… he told me to express myself and just play,” continued Wilshere, who has had eight appearances and one goal in this campaign.
