Cesc Fabregas is a Liability Alongside N’Golo Kante, Says Robson

Stewart Robson is well known for his time with Arsenal, and the former midfielder claims that Cesc Fabregas was a liability for Chelsea in the opening match against Burnley.

The blues suffered a surprise defeat on the opening game of the season, despite being the reigning champions, as Burnley were able to take advantage of two red cards for the home team. Gary Cahill was given a straight red card in the first half, while Fabregas was sent off for a double yellow in the second half. Robson believes that Antonio Conte cannot consider playing Cesc Fabregas and N’Golo Kante in the same midfield.


Cesc Fabregas has been a top talent from when he first started out as a teenager in the Premier League. He was tasked with skipper duties at a young age too at Arsenal, helping him develop faster. He has consistently provided at least ten assists for over six seasons in the Premier League.

Fabregas bailed Chelsea from the creativity conundrum last season and he is expected to continue to do so this term. With Juan Mata and Oscar gone, Fabregas was the man the team relied on in the 2014/2015 title winning season. The experienced playmaker delivered the title as he played a key role in that squad.
